One we activate the Address by Effective Date constant, we must run the Effective Address Update program (R01840) from fat client like below. In the screen, Turn on the Address by Effective Date check box and save the same. The screen can be accessed via the following menu path. The Effective Date functionality can be enabled by turning on the option in address book constants screen. Please note that in the above screen, there is an area where we can find Effective Date field along with Previous and Next buttons. Once we click on + symbol in the menu, we can create a new address for a customer, or supplier, or company etc… using the below screen. Search Type field tells us whether we are creating address for customer or supplier or company etc… The address book screen appears as below.
